What possible reason would someone measure they're height and weight? Is it just vanity?

To have some idea of whether they are in danger of having a heart attack or a stroke.

Me, I am:
About 5ft 11
13st 7lbs and dropping
Age 60 in three weeks.

I go to the gym and am sensible about what I eat and drink, without being fanatical. My parents both died quite young, so I always had the aim of outliving them both. I did that about 9 years ago for my mother and about 5 years ago for my father.

PS - my new ambition is to live to see the BHAFC managerial position sorted out.
