Sunderland v Brighton 1980/1. A MASSIVE crew of 42 Albion fans arrive at Seaburn rail station for a must win game in our relegation fight. The local police, about 100 strong, piss themselves with laughter at the insipid turnout, and then take us to the match in three police vans as it is less problematic than giving us an escort by foot. They were splendid chaps, who genuinely couldn't believe why there were so few of us.

Now, that is a nice little anecdote :lolol:

Starting a revolution from my bed
My first memory of a policing incident was playing Wimbledon at Selhurst I think. For some reason or another loads of Brighton lads werent allowed in the ground, myself and many of my dads friends included. Someone then started mouthing off to a policemen I believe, and soon enough, he had a pile of policemen on top of him and his face was bulging, I must have been about ten at the time and it scared the shit out of me.

My favourite, however, was being escorted back to the train station from Luton last year. The Luton fans had f***ed off, but the police still found the need to escort us all the ****ing way without letting us stop in any pubs of offies.
