Do you mean ISS? Pro Evo was never released on the N64, but Konami made football games for the console under the International Superstar Soccer name.
Yep your right, it was ISS. It was the one with historical scenarios, where you could be 2-0 down with England at HT and needed to win the game etc etc.

Games that had a profound impact on me and the man I am today.

Sonic 2 - Mega Drive
Goldeneye - N64
WWF Attitude - Playstation
GTA Vice City - PS2 - this was the absolute bad boy - best game of all time bar none
Football Manager (not sure which year) - PC
Hitman Contracts - Xbox 360
Red Dead Redemption - PS3

Still waiting for a game to properly immerse me on PS4. I get FIFA religiously every year and love it but it's never had the same effect as the games listed above. GTA 5 on PS4 is genius, but the last game to truly pull me in was probably Red Dead. Very much looking forward to the release of the new one in the Autumn. First proper effort from Rockstar games on an 8th gen console (I think?), they rarely let me down.

Any "My Top Games Are:" list would not be complete without this.

I played it when I was about 14. 35 hours straight at one point and my mum was mightily pissed off with me haha

I remember renting it from Video Box when I was younger and spent nearly 20 hours playing with the PS on the whole time as I had no memory card back then. Went to get some food and my mum had unplugged the PS to hoover :ffsparr:

For nostalgia reasons - Track and field on the PS1. I worked out a truly wonderful technique for this (not, not the sock one) and would destroy all contenders. Plug in the multi-tap and let the 4 player fund begin.

And probably my fave of all time. Guitar hero. This came out when I was at uni and my housemate also got a guitar so we formed 'a band'. A few drinks, turn the volume up and, for a moment, genuinely believe you two are doing the guitar solo finale to Hotel California.

Brilliant.

I remember playing Track & Field (or similar) on the C64 with my mate regularly. Serious arm ache after bashing the hell out of the joystick left to right to get speed up!

ISS 98 - was a great game! Beaten in terms of gameplay by Fifa 99 not long after but the ISS series was fun.

I was a ISS/Pro Evo man up until Fifa 10, then I switched and never went back. FIFA are untouchable now with all the naming rights etc etc ........

That game was a joystick wrecker!

Even more so when frustration got the better of us after losing, and we'd try and defy physics by putting all our weight on it and trying to turn the handle 180 degrees! This was my implement of choice - they could withstand a good lot of frustration!

currently playing horizon zero dawn didn't think id like it that much but its great

I own Elite Dangerous on the Xbox One but have never found a spare month to get up to speed.

I adored Elite on the BBC B, and the concept of Elite Dangerous is amazing - a fully realised Universe where you can visit any star out there, and make your own journey is amazing, but I've just not had the time.

I used to love Doom on the PC, and I've played the new version, but I got bored quickly.

FIFA on most platforms (I have it on PS1, 2, 3, Xbox one and PS4 now in different versions).

My son is seriously into gaming and recently got a PS4 for his birthday (he paid for it and the family got him the games) and he's been playing Uncharted and Horizon Zero Dawn.
