I believe the PE teacher's surname began with F

Remember ginger Williams?

You're right about F. Our collective memories are struggling!

Was Williams a maths teacher?

Mr & Mrs.Bellingham (not liked)
Kellett - English (an eccentric)
Paige - Drama (sacked years later for a financial .... )
Boyle - Geography.
Butlin - History. In the internet there are pictures of her there in the early 60's when it was just A Block & not called Tideway
Timmins - English. Married a girl in my year as soon as she was 18.
Beere - Chemistry.

The German teacher was Taff Davis neighbour, only two houses up by the cliffs after the playing fields

I was good friends with one of Taffy's sons and I was there when undercover OB raided the house
Rumours were he was a spy,but no idea what he'd been up to

Gwylum?

There home was on the cross country course. The teachers stood there with hot teas, as we ran 2 long circuits in driving hail.

Wasn't it Le Paige, or Le Podge as we called him. He also ran the tuck-shop. Every week, the start of our drama lesson, a group of us had to help him carry boxes of tuck from his car to the classroom. And every week we lifted a few items. As the weeks went by we got more and more confident and took more and more. I always wondered why he never noticed. Then he caught fiddling the books. I presume he didn’t want anyone looking too closely.

Yeah that's him

Ginger Williams was the only teacher who held any respect

Kellett was my tutor throughout my time there

Miss Bevan (drama)

I liked Gwylum, no problems with him. Crikey, his Dad would lay into him if he was naughty. He was in my tutor group with Pierson.

We used to wind up very stiff Kellett in English (high up in B Block), but he was a good teacher.

Teachers I remember:

Miss Reeves - maths
Miss Fenn-Tye - English (attractive and posh)
Brad The Lad - Plastic work
Barty Ward - PE
Kellett - had a touch of the JRM about him
Mr Rummery - a policeman who used to visit the school and do talks.
Mrs Ost - Science.
Mr Davies - PE
Mr Sandford - Geography I think.

Suspended for fighting. Expelled for smashing windows.

Then in 6th form college, i took an extended 6 week christmas break, returned & found they had deregistered me from college - grossly unfair

I did really enjoy school though

I remember going to see the Stranglers at the top rank,we were about 16 and poor old Gwlyum didn't get in due to his height, but my 12 year old brother at the time did,I really felt for him that night

One of his sisters works in reception at Lewes Swimming Pool. She always remembers Tideway people.

Do you remember Peter French, Gulliver Gray, etc?
