What is more electable than Jeremy Corbyn?

Agreed. Theresa is simply a dull old Tory who will serve some time until she gets booted out. Expectations are so low in this country that she doesn't actually need to do anything apart from steady austerity and continued protection of comfortably off Tory voters.

Presumably a bunch of money grabbing, insincere, self obsessed Eaton pricks (according to Notters )

It seems that the left wing of NSC is unable to discuss anything without being offensive.

Seem to remember an old saw about a pig wearing a red rosette being eminently electable in many die-hard Labour constituencies. That might not apply so much oop North these days..

Perhaps a Dulux Dog though.

NSC contributors would do well to remember that NO CRITICISM of JC is permitted, in any form.

His new politics is about being honest and speaking for what you believe in. Giving straight answers, etc. It wouldn't hurt the Tories to do the same. Oh, actually yes, it probably would.

Why bother? when being honest and speaking for what you beleive in just reveiles how out of touch and bat shit crazy you are?

Unless you are the Shadow Chancellor, in which case you just make a lot of statements that are "just a joke"

Regardless of whatever your political colours are the stark reality is that to currently win an overall majority in Westminster you have to have 326 seats out of the 650.

Labour under Corbyn won't do this.

So doesn't that make him unelectable?

Stick a blue one on a slug and they'd get elected in many south-east seats.

Although that may have changed somewhat with the Southern Fail issues.

So if Corbyn is really as unelectable as you right wingers keep claiming, why keep banging on about it instead of just ignoring him as the irrelevance you claim him and his ideology to be?

In all honesty, I think you're all genuinely worried that change is coming your way. A bit like everyone being convinced that Remain was a safe bet, even if it might end up being closer than expected after all. Didn't quite work out like that did it.

I find it genuinely fascinating that the media and the usual suspects on here keep playing the emperors new clothes trick with Corbyn. I think a lot of people who are doing ok thank you with the system as it is are genuinely worried that our country is clearly divided and that something has to give.

But carry on... you enjoy having your fun, even though plenty of us know it's just a front for your genuine fear of change.

Trust me I have no fear whatsoever that the British people are going to elect a socialist government. That's because EVERY SHRED OF EVIDENCE THERE IS tells us that it won't happen. You can delude yourself all you want, but we've been here before in what is most of our lifetimes.

I think most of the fascination with Corbyn is with the stupidity that we're going to get a different result this time. As someone on the centre-left (e.g. Blairite scum apparently) I certainly am a bit pre-occupiued with Corbyn, but only because he's going to resign us to at least another 10 years of a Tory government.

The likely fall out of letting Corbyn and his fellow Clowns into power is certainly not unknown to those of us who lived through the 1970's...

yep quietly spoken .........no the punch and judy show called the tory party

its called fear, fear of the unknown[/QUOTE]

With a moment's thought, you might like to retract that glib comment. Most of Eastern Europe lived for some 40 years with what Corbyn stands for, and they are still playing economic catch-up.

yet another glib remark about someone you don't even know thats me or him
did you know that dave was going to give up the ghost and run away afer the referrendum (something I might say I was prdicting for months before it even happened)
the tories favourite trick .............leaving someone else to pick up the bits

and this gibberish is in response to me pointing out that the worry about Corbyn is not fear of the unknown, as you suggest, as Eastern European experience from 1949 to 1989 provides those, who wish to learn from history, all they need to know about what happens with his policies are put into practice.

as concerned as one might be with the Eastern European example, i'm more concerned with the example of Maoist china, with McDonnell in charge of economic policy.
