Thanks for the messages folks....she is finally going to have this removed this morning sometime, so she has been through the mill since 2 am yersterday morning!!
We are going up to see her this afternoon and I'll pass on your best wishes.
Thanks all. The registrar said it may well have popped if they left it a few more hours. My appendix was stuck to my intestinal wall apparently hence why it was so so so painful. Have not had a very good night pain and sickness wise but that's quite a regular thing with me after operations (16 down!)
Main problem is that I'm stuck on a geriatric ward full of mental people (I know I'm not allowed to say that, so I'll blame the 70+ mgs of morphine I've had overnight) so sleep is not easy to come by - had about 4 hours sleep since half 2 in the morning on the 30th.
Haven't managed to eat yet, and I have a feeling I may be about to get forced to.
In better news my iPhone 4 arrived yesterday! Can't use it as I've got to hav Internet access on my laptop which it doesnt in this sodding hospital!
Lack of sleep? More Oramorph then please nurse, it's always worked for me. Don't let them give you any of that Solpadol crap, particularly the soluble tablets - the formulation is a pharmaceutical emabarassment, absolutely horrible taste.
