This might sound a bit simple, but have they checked for any links between all of the victims? Is their contaminated water I know sheep dip is supposed to enhance suicidal thoughts...

Saw something in the papers saying Bridgend isn't even the suicide capital of Wales, let alone the UK. Still a weird sad thing tho.

I heard there was some sort of cult amungst teenagers there, and there is a website they all use saying they are going to commit suicide, and get advice from others on how to do it

It's weird, because their friends all write crappy - and pointless - little messages like "sleep well my sweet angel" after they've done it too. Some would say it's the post-Diana conspicuous mourning syndrome taken to its extreme; I'd just say they were bored and very, very stupid. It's like the Darwin Awards.

it is really sad. i look back on gonetoosoon because of all the Anastasia stuff and there are pages for these people in bridgend and so many of the people who have taken their life since have written on the page of others who have gone before them. it's sad. imagine being a parent there and worrying, no matter how 'happy' your child might be, that it would be yours next. and i know anyone anywhere can take their life but it just seems like a real, real threat there.

The volume of suicides hasn't been out of the ordinary for that area, just the fact that that girl and boy cousins who both killed themselves has publicised it.. Media scare re internet suicide pacts?

There were 13 suicides by young people in 2007, and 21 in total, he said, and the total in 2006 was 28.
"One suicide a month in a good year, one every three weeks in a poor one. Men aged 16-35 are most at risk," he added.
Not saying that what's happening at the moment isn't bad, just that it's nothing new.
