The "obvious" ones are Top Gear and Dr Who - exported to a huge number of countries, but the question wouldn't be asked if it had an obvious answer.

I was going to suggest The Office due to the success and longevity of the US version but the question says "made in the UK", so that would exclude any spin-offs or versions made in other countries as they won't have been made in the UK.

I'm also guessing that much of any profits may have come from merchandise, which could point to a children's show. Peppa Pig could be a good shout there, but its already been discounted.

I'm not sure why I've written this as I'm stumped.
