What if beating Ajax away and Marseille at home was the peak of the Brighton and Hove Albion experience and we will now slowly return to being an upper mid table Championship side?

It feels like that.

For pity’s sake. I’ve said the whole time, just enjoy the ride. Take the highs with the lows and see where we are at the end of each season. We’ve not replaced two of the best midfielders in the league, had a promising one retire with illness, and are in a poor run of form at the moment.

Obviously it’s going to be all doom and gloom right now. Look at the bigger picture.

We are safe from relegation in March, a decent run away from challenging for Europe again, have several of our best players out (March, Mitoma, Pedro).

We’ll see this season through, recruit in the summer and go again. Take each game as it comes and TRY and enjoy football - and life generally

We've peaked in this cycle.

We sold our midfield and didn't replace them, I still think top 10 and last 16 in Europe represents a good season given the circumstances.

The debate is if Bloom should've gambled and invested more in the team from a position of strength. As it is we'll lose the manager and have to rebuild. It's not the end of the world, this is the reality of our selling model and lower playing budget.

So what? We’ve flown higher than almost anyone could have imagined. Little old Brighton stuck it to, and beat, former European champions.

If the club had shown some ambition, this could have been a truly special season. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case and we’ll look back at it as a missed opportunity as I’d be surprised if we ever qualify for Europe again.

Christ sake, we have an amazing and very young squad, we could conceivably retain RDZ for another season. I feel the dream is far from over and we will take off next season.

Who knows. Maybe De Zerbi had peaked with us but another manager may take us further

This will not happen. We're going into the summer window on the back of 2 consecutive seasons making 100m profits, all while everyone else is fighting to avoid FFP sanctions.

I genuinely have lost faith in De Zerbi though and think that unless he can learn to adapt, then he won't be with us next year.
