What if plymouth go bust

I read an article today which appears to say that Plymouths creditors have until 5th may to accept or reject their offer if they reject it the liquidation process would begin, as the season ends on 7th they would finish the season before being dissolved....Ithink.

If the offer is rejected I think you'll find the club will be liquidated immediately , there isn't much difference for the creditors in getting nothing or less than a penny in the £.
At that stage, any award of 3 automatic points for a forfeited game would only benefit Leyton Orient. This could affect qualification for the play-offs, if Orient are still in the running. But the sensitivity of any decision will be much clearer by 5 May.

Don't quite see how, the creditors are not invited to attend the vote until the 6th May.

The wider mood 'down home' is that liquidation is a far distant prospect now.
I have to say that i'm less inclined to agree. If I were a creditor, I would have a level at which the offer is such an insult i'd be prepared to forgoe my matter of pence for the principle of letting the club fold.

When you offer LESS than 1p in the pound, i'd wager quite a few of the smaller creditors would reach that threashold. Passing up a few quid is less cutting your nose off to spite your face and more just scratching your nose to rid yourself of an irritation.

I still fear the worst, I simply can't fathom where the £17.7m went. We never spent more than £500k on a player and our transfers out balance is far far higher than transfers in. My only guess is that it's wages. You won't have this problem as Brighton is a desirable area to live but we have to pay a premium to get players to leave the 'usual haunts'. Jim Paterson our, journeyman left back is presently on the same wages as Craig Mackail-Smith .

On the pitch there is still fight in the old dog yet, another win today and suddenly the task looks quite achievable. The only saving grace if we do go is that the process has proved we have a lot to be proud of.

Not the embarrasment of administration, that's the former owners shame. But......

As fans raising tens of thousands of pounds for our unpaid staff and general running costs for three months.
As players foregoing their 15% wages this month to give to the staff.
As fans turning out in good numbers (relatively!) and cheering them on for 90 minutes at Daggers and recent home games.
As staff for keeping the home fires burning with no pay and no prospect of pay.
As players for rolling up their sleeves and fighting when in todays world of the 'professional' footballer attitude they could be expected to roll over.
As manager, himself working unpaid and putting up his own medals to raise funds for the staff and club hardship funds.

We've all come out of this process with chests out and pride restored. If we go down, even if we get liquidated, there is will and determination a plenty to bounce back eventually.

Enjoy the CCC............just be careful not to over reach. Don't make demands of your board that your gates don't justify because it might not take a year, it might not take three, but eventually it'll catch up with you. I never thought our 2004 League 1 Championship could possibly end like this so let us be a warning to you - keep your expectations realistic and never ever employ Ian Holloway :tosser:.

Oh and can I just add..........

We are worried about a poxy trophy when a club is on the verge of closure?!

I'd gladly walk the trophy over to Southampton myself if it meant Plymouth and their fans still had a club to support.

..........Loving your work.

A Southampton fan would never say such a thing, certain clubs fans just don't have a wider footballing conscience. At Falmer in february we didn't get a single bit of p155-take, just genuine empathy, you just KNOW the kind of stuff Southampton fans will be chanting at Home Park next week.

As a club you are better, as fans you are better.

They even wanted to force us to play them on the Tuesday to give them more preperation time.........despite the fact that a Bank Holiday crowd could be the difference between survival or failure compared to a Tuesday evening gate.

Be proud of yourselves, you're not Southampton!!.

That was the Unibond League , the FA wouldn't do that for any club in the professional leagues. When Aldershot were wound up in 1992 their results were expunged immediately and they were expelled from the league the same day as the court hearing.

I think predicting what the FA will or won't do is a dangerous thing to do. They are hardly famed for the consistency in their decisions, are they? All I'm saying is that there is a precedent for awarding points.

The FA are more in a quandary over possibly deducting points from QPR but don't want to make a decision until they know it won't affect the final placings. Personally I can't see them awarding points even though a precedent has been set in a non professional league as they would be in contravention of current Football League rules and legal action could be taken by affected clubs.
