Think back to cardiff where we won 3-1 comfortably we've had no players leave and only improvments on the team why are we doing so badly ffs:shootself

teams have found us out and we have no plan b

This! If the opposition push high up and press, we can't pass around the back. At the moment no plan B. We need to learn to pass through teams more as well.

We need to move the ball quickly. We now play so slowly it borders on an embarrassment.

To me it seems more like Confidence and lack of goals. You can compete with the better teams you just need the finish to your games to put the ball in the back of the net and end the game essentially.

Sounds easy. Just a shame it's not - at least for us at the moment.

This. Teams have changed the way they play against us, they've identified the need to nullify Nooney and they identified our weaknesses. We need to adapt.

its one big learning curve thats for sure

Mostly down to the fact you're in a league where there are no 100 percent guarenteed winners in games, every team has an equal chance of beating the other. This isn't like League 1 where there's a huge skill gap between some teams, you'l generally see a lot of games that make no sense where the team in 23rd place beats the team in 1st, or 2nd, etc and so forth.

Cardiff was just one game, we flattered to deceive in much of the other early games. We were never as good as our early position suggested. We are too good to go down but not good enough to be challenging for promotion/playoffs. Apart from cardiff are there any other games where we have looked like a team that will get promoted ?

What does this actually mean? Seems like a bit of a parrot-phrase at the moment e.g. lots repeating it, but how, what, where, when, why etc? Sorry, it's just it sounds like a bit of a bandwaggon soundbite to me.

just got back. what a strange game. presumably it was the paynter factor - but we played a lot of long balls today. hardly any passing. We clearly missed dicker and bridders - what happened to him?? iwelumu was awesome tonight - made calde and painter look like little boys - and while the goal looked like he fouled calde - it was probably just his strength that made it look that way.

the fact that tano has to come on after already retiring shows the horrific lack of personnel we have at the moment. too many injuries and sadly, those that are left are not quite up to the mark in terms of playing the type of game we need to play. I have no doubt we will be back - but any team missing five certain first teamers (vicente, buckley, jara, dicker, el abd) are bound to struggle.

paynter was ok - but not sparkling - he flicked on very little for CMS - in fact it was mostly the other way round - but sadly CMS flicking on to nobody. i do think that because he was there we lumped it forward far too much - unfortunately - we didn't aim at him!! what chance has nooney got of doing anything with a ball to his head?

Oh well - bring on an (in-form) Barnsley for a big game on Sunday

paynter was ok -

Generally speaking that's Paynter summed up, from what I saw at Leeds anyway. Confidence seems to be the issue for him, if he gets on a good run, good for him. Generally speaking I wouldn't hold your breath.

Ok, seems fair going by the Hull and West Ham games. Glad not able to go to Watford tonight if that was what happened in general. We seem to be a second or two slower than teams at this level when coming for passes or reacting to the 50:50. I also think, physically, we just look like boys against men in several matches. West Ham was land of the giants and we seem to get brushed off in lots of challenges or race for the ball. We, the Amex crowd express outrage but referree after referree seems to think these are fair. I've begun to see their view and we're not harshly handled. We're just a bit small and petit man for man it seems. We're out-muscled in so many instances.

I wasn't at the Cardiff game but if I remember correctly from the reports the 1-3 scoreline flattered us a bit. We were very lucky at Pompey (I was there) and I think we have flattered to deceive for most of this season. Our posession game has been sussed out by the other teams, sorry but it is absolutely pointless having 70% of the game if most of that time is spent in your own half and you end up losing. And we appear to have lost the ability to even shoot judging by the last few games.
Not happy, but as I've been an Albion supporter since 1963 I'm used to it, still, the relegation fight will be exciting.

:(
