COG has had plenty of game time and not looked like he has a clue where the goal is in over a year. Colunga has had very little game time but it clear that he has ability and in some of the cameos has looked one of our better players. It's all a bit odd imo.

Agreed. 4 goals and 4 assists last season in not that many appearances and he cannot get a look in. CH said earlier in the transfer window that Colunga would have a role to play if he stays once his future is sorted out - it gave me the impression that it was the player that was sorting himself out and not the club. All rather odd.

Whilst it's IMO. Colunga is one of the top few with good technical ability at our club. He has proven that he can play:
A) as a winger, when we had Bent playing he passed quick direct balls, the type of ball a decent striker requires. His crosses were generally good also.
B) as a midfielder, he bossed one of our home matches last season and for me was our man of the match. This included taking good corners.
C) as a penalty taker, he is first class. 100%
D) as a striker, he can score goals but only if the team is set up with that intent.

But surely if you can generalise so can I? I also know and work with many Spanish in the UK, France and the USA and have also worked in Spain but like most there is a mix some want to go home some love it abroad and want to stay. You generalised that the Spanish as a nation are home-bodes and don't travel well this is simple no more true for the Spanish than any other nation.

Yes there are is more to the Colunga situation than we know but I do not see how you can base the reason on an inaccurate generalisation.

How's that for a Lethargic response?

Well it's a bit more perky :) To be honest though I lived in Madrid and all my friends are from a very working class background there, as are most Spaniards. Your typical guy, not everyone obviously but your average guy on the street doesn't like to travel much.

I'd much rather see Colunga on the pitch instead of COG.

That rather depends on the job you are expecting them to do. Watching COG play out wide on occasion last year was comical.

Equally, I wouldn't fancy bringing Colugna on late to hold the ball up and take it into the corners.

If Zamora gets fit and stays fit, I doubt we'll see much of COG either.

Would like to see him given a go as the link between Hamed and the midfield, think he is a talented player

The sooner we get rid of COG and Colunga the better, I would literally give them away for £250k a go just to get off the wage bill.

I would just give them away.

Sadly they are on a BIG FAT WEDGE and therefore are quite entitled to sit their contract out if they want to.

And some people wondered why Burke lost his job. Amazing.

It's not really relevant now is it. Centuries later. I'm talking about the people that currently live there. Lethargic of name, lethargic of nature

I'm glad we don't have a bunch of lazy, mummy's boy footballers in England, those Torres, Fabregas, Silva, Arteta, Navas, De Gea types. Not forgetting the idle Inigo Calderon.

Are you, perchance, a script writer for Jeremy Clarkson?

I'm with you. Apart from the fact that COG and Colunga are two totally different types of players. As much as I like Colunga, given CH doesn't trust him, I'm very keen to be shot of both asap, with someone of the quality of Vydra coming in instead.

Shame about the significance of that word 'if' in sentences, isn't it?

NSC is all about the subjunctive. Regrettably, the games are all in the indicative.

Indeed. Linked to this some on here though think people with contracts have the right to leave if a better offer is made elsewhere. Works both ways, thats why comtracts are imvolved
