Today is the tenth day under an unstoppable snow everywhere here! It's quite freeeezing!

I know its cold but the stadium is not that old, Europe has had this weather for days surely playing it at night when the temp drops greatly is not the best idea. Just think calling it of at 8pm when its supposed to kick of is unreal.

It was due to be -8 degrees by half time alone. Having been to the Stade de France, that would've been a nightmare to do & get anywhere around it.

I don't think the OP's comment was about it being cancelled, more about the timing of it

One wonders why undersoil heating was not provided unless the French were convinced they would never need it?

The stadium cost around 290m euros, I am sure they could have spent a little more to heat the pitch!

Its been below freezing there all day they new the forecast. All im saying is calling a game of at 8pm bang on kick off is a joke given the temps all week

BOF, 5Live have just said that the stadium was built over an old rubbish tip and there were concerns about underground Methane, hence, no undersoil heating otherwise the pitch might have ended up looking like the Somme.

on another point, the ref is English, so, top bombing to piss off the Frogs and the Paddies in one !

There is not any undersoil heating at the Stade France. This is due to it being in an area where there are lots of underground gas pipes therefore planning permission. Also I was informed by a pal who is French that there is hardly any Rugby fans in Paris itself and they travel miles to get there.

Massive uproar over there about not having the games staged in a Rugby city.

I can only apologise he did say that his family travel miles to Paris to watch it maybe he over exaggerated and is being a little biased as its his family that have to do the travelling.

Onions are like drugs to the French.

Paris has a population of 6 million+, getting 80k to watch a game now and again is not a big deal. it's also the capital therefore a lot of people from all over live there.
Your mate is correct the rugby heartland is the southwest.
Stade's rise was a money thing anyway.
