That’s b

That’s brought back some (hazy) memories!

I was a member at The Zap for years. My mate from school was one of the warm up DJs on a Friday night. I think his music making partner is on NSC occasionally.

Only did The Escape when they had a DJ I wanted to see but it’s also the last place I went clubbing, after we beat Wolves on Easter Friday to set up the Wigan promotion game. Brandon Block was DJing, everyone was over 40, plenty of Brighton in there, still seriously messy.

I digress. The 90s.

Of that list Zap, Escape, Northern Exposure/ Babealicious, Sainsbury’s and Club UK were all regular haunts. We were probably on the same dance floor more than once.
He's Ebeneezer Good!!

I was a sport gamer and the 90s gave us

Super tennis.
Sensible soccer
Championship manager (I also like premier manager)
The birth of fifa

But the best two were
Brian Lara’s cricket with Agnew saying “pushpakamara steaming in”
Jonah lomu rugby - what a game.

Shout out to micro machines and street fighter 2. Not mortal combat because it was crap and people pretended to like it.
Oh the 90s were amazing for sport games, yeah. So many football manager type games - couldn't tell you why now but I loved 'Kevin Keegan's Player Manager'. I think it was because it played like Sensible Soccer but with a management sim whacked on top of it.

Brighton factually.....
Having attended Manchester University in the 1990s I ask myself that question daily.
our paths must have crossed, did you ever go to indie night at the ritz or Berlin club, probably went to the Hacienda, everyone says they did.
Loved going to Aflecks Palace on a Saturday to get a flat top, old teddyboys stood on the stairs listening to a duke box.
Loved Manchester late 80s and early 90s, I moved to Camden in about 94.

I forgot pga tour golf. It was a game changer. It actually felt like you were in control. It was brilliant. Money changed hands at uni with pga on mega drive then someone flash got a PS and tiger woods golf was launched. What a game.

Born in 83 so was a kid for half and a teen for the other (all be it a not old enough to legally drink teen).

Albion wise it feels like we were either promoted or relegated most seasons but could be a couple years out?

Music wise was stuff like Green Day before they bacame shit and pop, James, Garbage, Republica, Hole and of course a bit earlier Nirvana.

Most of the time I was kicking a ball about outside or playing basketball down the park court though.

I am still multiply pieced from visits to Aflecks Palace.

The last time I played a console game was around the end of the 90’s. It was Formula 97 and was great.
I bet they are flipping amazing nowadays.

When we went out clubbing on a Friday night our house mate used to sit up in the house and play NHL 95 all night till we came back. One of the fastest paced and most addictive sports sims I’ve ever played!

Same.

I have a handheld emulator that has about 3k games on it from every console. I pick it up now and again but not often. I get into Aliens and Street Fighter sometimes.

I haven’t played a proper game since Die Hard on the PlayStation 😂

I still use the very first email address I created back in the 90s for everything…it’s a @hotmail.com.
I did have a Hotmail.com one too when I used to play MSN card games but they closed the games 😞

Yahoo.com.. is mine however my friend said she would never employ me because of yahoo id .. hmm

Internet 1.0 which is infinitely better and more fun than the monetised shit show we have today. In fact, everything was more fun in the 90s.
I was constantly skint, but worked three times harder at everything . . .and always seemed to be able to afford to have an amazing time

Clapton . . . ThricE cut yellow whizzy shit. Like my estate agent lodger used to get as sweeteners from PD's & builders.

The original is better . . . I think you had to work at Amex to afford that. 😉

All guess work mind. I have no idea, just googled it 🤓

My first, and still used for a lot of stuff is @hotmail.com. . . . The only sad thing is somewhen early 2000's they deeted everything and I lost a load of emails with contact details of people I worked with and friends I'd met working abroad. Some of who'm I've completely lost contact with.
