I used to play "hide the pickle" with my Mrs but she didn't go on holiday with me and my mistress so now I have no one to eat my pickle for me while I'm on holiday. I guess I'll just have to buck up and munch the pickle for myself. Oh that consternation that some holidays bring!

Bloody hell !

Just realised that as well as missing Burnley at home due to holiday, I'm also going to miss Spuds at home as taking Mrs P to Rome for her birthday, which means because of the way the fixtures fall, I'll not have a home match between 24th August (Saints) and 26th October (Everton)

Two months without a footy fix

I'm reading this thread fascinated that there's not more people who either wait for the fixture list to be announced or / and make sure that their holidays just so happen to coincide with international breaks.

I was really looking forward to Newcastle away, my brother is hosting a cheese and wine party on the train going up but I've got a bloody party for a friend of my wife and can't get out of it.

Also Chelsea away as it's my wifes birthday, doubt either game will be moved.

Personally speaking, because football simply isn't everything in my life. Yes, I'm disappointed if I miss games due to holidays or whatever, but I get over it. In this day and age anyway, it is highly likely I will be able to watch any game I miss on holiday in a bar wherever I am.

And yes, I realise 4 posts back I whinged about no footy fix for 2 months, but as I said, I'll get over it :lolol:

One of my favourite holiday moments a few years back was sitting down to breakfast one morning in Chicago, and my phone buzzing in my pocket. I checked it assuming it was a text from someone, but it turned out to be a goal alert, telling me that Glenn Murray had just put us 1 up against Barnsley. It hadn't even occurred to me that we were playing at that moment.

Marvellous.
