What Fulham think of our lad Bobby Zamora.

Well they may get their wish. Yesterday the standard was reporting that harry (ten per cent" Redknapp was eyinig up BZ for a return to White Hart lane.......

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp will try to sign Bobby Zamora next month, having failed to buy the Fulham striker in the summer.

It has been reported that the England international has had a bust-up with Martin Jol, something which the Fulham boss denied yesterday.
Zamora was dropped for the defeat to Swansea on Saturday and Redknapp hopes he can convince Fulham to sell the forward when the transfer window re-opens.

The Spurs manager sees Zamora as the perfect back-up to first choice Emmanuel Adebayor and is determined to strengthen his attack as he expects to sell Roman Pavlyuchenko.

While Queens Park Rangers have asked about taking the Russia international on loan, chairman Daniel Levy is only interested in a straight cash deal. Pavlyuchenko is set to return to his homeland with Lokomotiv Moscow leading the chase for him.

Zamora, who had 18 months at Spurs before joining West Ham in 2004, wants regular first-team football to help his chances of making England's Euro 2012 squad and Redknapp will look to give him plenty of games even though Adebayor is No1 in the pecking order. At 30 years old, Zamora goes against Levy's preference for buying younger players who could have a sell-on value but Redknapp hopes the success of summer signings Scott Parker, 31, and Brad Friedel, 40, will convince the chairman to back him again.

Spurs' efforts could be improved by the fact Fulham want defender Vedran Corluka although the Croatian's wages, which are around £35,000 a week, could be an issue for the Craven Cottage side. Corluka wants a move having started just one League game this season and a number of clubs are monitoring the situation.

Redknapp is looking for a centre-half and Alex is one of his main targets now the Brazilian has been told he can leave Chelsea. However, the Blues will want around £8million for the player, who is under contract until 2013, and Spurs are unlikely to meet that price. Italian club Juventus remain Alex's favoured destination.

Meanwhile, Standard Sport understands that Michael Dawson is on course to be in first-team contention in mid-January.

The centre-half has been sidelined since injuring his Achilles against Manchester City in August. Dawson was only expected to be ruled out for two months but ended up having surgery in November.

To be honest, if the claims their fans are making on that thread are true, then they've every right to be f***ed off with him.

Martin Jol took off Dempsey and then Bobby, leaving a threadbare attack who fail to hold the ball up in that final minute, leading to an Odense counter-atack and winning goal.

I totally see it from Bobby's perspective - WTF is Jol doing? He should have kept both players on the field, and his 'spat' with Bobby has directly led to their exit from that competition. Bobby looked well f***ed off to be subbed, and rightly so.

I wonder whether Pardew fancies taking him up to the Toon? That to me looks like a good fit for a 2-season deal.

Well he did pretty well with the lay off for Dempsey's goal.

He seems to enjoy playing with Dempsey and Johnson, but not under Jol. I can't see Fulham doing anything this season, which is a shame because I enjoyed their Europa League run last season and the football they were playing. Bobby's still one of the best 'hold-up' English strikers and it would be interesting to see what he could do in a side like Newcastle or Villa.

i dont understand why there is this issue with Jol. i know we all look at him with tinted glasses, but in the highlights evry attack seems to flow through him and not many players would play through injuries like he has (didnt he have a face mask couple seasons ago?). maybe Jol is one of those that thinks fowards should score goals or are surplus? but then his own player, Ruiz is doing f*** all.

I watched the Fulham game on TV last night, and couldn't believe the commentator said (at least twice) that he had never been a prolific goalscorer! Hello!

With a top seven club and England Bobby Z would be a super-sub first choice. If he wants a regular spot and a high wage, and to live in London a club like Fulham seems ideal. Perhaps, QPR ?

He did make a jesture towards the bench that looked like he wanted to be subbed tbh

He just didn't look like his normal self and i did wonder if he was carrying an injury because he just didn't look comfortable or that interested and his touch was pretty woeful by his standards in that game. Hopefully its just a blip and he will be back to his best soon (and hopefully playing for England in the summer)
