All over the place
I think the current Albion squad leads to 4-4-2.

It is not my favourite though. 4-3-3 is, but our players are not good enough.

Top 25

Ankergren
Calderón El-Abd Vincelot Painter
Buckley Bridcutt Navarro Vicente
Mackail-Smith Barnes

Subs: Greer, Cook, Brezovan, Lua lua, Sparrow
Travelling non-subs: Noone, Dunk, Hoskins, Dicker
Five Reserves: Harley, Poke, Barker, Elphick, Bergkamp

Are you feeling ok?

Boring old 4-4-2 for me with Barnes or Hoskins alongside/around CMS.
The addition of an extra winger would mean Barnes wouldn't be dragged wide like he has so often this season which has left CMS isolated & as good as he is he's no target man.

I quite like the look of the 4-2-3-1:

Bridcutt--Dicker
Buckley--Vicente--Noone
-----------CMS------------
Very much like this (minus Dicker if we get a better defensive midfielder on loan)

Bridcutt and Navarro cannot play in the same side. Neither of them can play the quick killer pass that sets an attack in motion is all slow slow slow....Dont think Navarro is up to this level personally but Bridcutt can play the holding role for years to come.

I might change my mind and agree with you. Sparrow ?

Pity we lost Crofts !

4-4-2 leads but it it is far from conclusive.

This is jumping the gun somewhat (Carter) with a 4-3-3 variant. The modern 4-3-3 has the midfield advancing and defending in unison so this system could work. I think 4-4-2 makes more sense, unless we have a high stamina central midfielder (Will Buckley?). I have no idea what Carter is like, except he is tall, which helps. I don't know if he is like Spider Mellor or what? I was hoping Bergkamp would be like that?

Ankergren

Calderon Dunk Greer Painter (Bridge if possible)

Bridcutt Navarro (Carter)

Barnes Vicente Noone

CMS

Carter will not be around and McShame is going to be on the bench for the opposition. Looks more like 4-2-4 your system.

I think we probably try to frustrate the low scoring visitors with a 4-4-2 passing game and then bring on the winger(s).

Ankergren

Calderon Dunk Vincelot Painter

Bridcutt Sparrow Navarro Vicente

Mackail-Smith Barnes

Subs: Brezovan, Greer, Dicker, Lua lua, Noone (or Hoskins)

Team in the second half against Sunderland:

Sporting Life - Football Live

Ankergren, Calderon, Vincelot, Dunk, Painter, Navarro, Harley, Bridcutt, Barnes, Noone, Mackail-Smith.

Arguable a variation on that team ? Vicente for Harley and for 4-4-2 Sparrow (or Dicker) for Noone. But with 4-3-3 we might get away with both Noone (I prefer Lua lua) with two left wingers on the pitch.

I like having 2 CB's and 2 ST's. It's also more intersting to see Lualua and Noone on the pitch rather than Navarro and Dicker.442 with 2 very wide wingers will do me every day

Your post not only demonstrates the point but also the pointless two !
