This is a word used fairly regularly on NSC. Is it a real word and does it have a meaning?

Or is it someone just posing that they have invented a new word?

it also gives the right for users not involved in said binfestry to open a tube of pringles next to their keyboard, sit back and watch the drama unfold*

* and if they want to contribute, must post random picture of a cricketing nature

When it reaches this stage it is an UTTER BINFEST.

Well we get our dustbins out on Sunday night at the end of the drive. This is a place to meet neighbours and perhaps have a little festival.

Am I on the right track?

Grandma's Fruit Cake
Ingredients

225g self raising flour (place the flour in a warm place before using)
150g margarine or butter
110g light brown sugar
2 medium eggs (take these out of the fridge an hour before)
1/2 tsp baking powder
250g luxury mixed fruit
10g chopped apricots
75g chopped almonds,
50g chopped cherries

Method

Cream the fat and the sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs, one by one, using a little sieved flour with each egg to stop the mixture curdling. Beat until smooth. Fold in most of the sieved flour and the teaspoon of baking powder. Shake the rest of the flour on to the dried fruit. This helps to stop the fruit from sinking. Add to the cake mixture and stir well. Put into a lined, greased 9-inch cake tin and cook in an oven at gas mark 5, 375ºF, 190ºC for 15 minutes. Then turn down to gas mark 2, 300ºF, 150ºC for a further 1 and a quarter hours, or until the cake has risen evenly and is firm to the touch when pressed with a finger. Cool on the rack before removing from the tin.

So what if we try and break it down by syllables.

'fest' is probably festival, so we have just to find what 'bin' is.:shrug::shrug:
