Global change manager responsible for change management in the global cloud/ Availability industry for all of our European business units.

I don't earn as much as as other people at other similar companies as per the matrices that our company use. ( although there are only IBM/ HP and rackspace who are similar size competitors) That is the problem with being at the same company for the last 17 years!

Still hanging on in there

Why did I always think you were a very successful porn star?

Speaking from experience I joined the railway and cared massively for the passengers/customers I dealt with, primarily those who required assistance to board and alight trains due to disability or any number of other reasons. I then moved on to being a conductor and was thrilled as it was an extension of the job I was doing. That was unfortunately short lived as the whole work force became de-moralised, me especially. Before the whole thing kicked off with the industrial action I applied for another job still on the railway but had to wait 10 months for me to change jobs.

I've now gone back to putting everything I can in to providing the best service I can even though I don't directly deal with the general public.

Please don't tar every one of my colleagues with the same brush, there are many of us who work for railway who do the best we can despite what has been going on these past 9 months, or to be honest, a lot longer.

So you're not striking then?

Well, many of you have been quite honest and informative.

So i will say as much as I want to, back in the beginning of November I changed companies, take out the 2 week xmas break i have been with this new company about 8 / 9 weeks, I am a Senior Manager in a small well established Building Company, I suppose it would be equal to a Contracts / Project Managers status, I am at present responsible for doing a £400k + refurb on a very old property, also a 1 million pound one off new build house (it really is awesome!) and literally on Monday I start a (what is quite big for us) new build of 14 flats which involves knocking down a church.

My salary is the most I have ever earn't as an employed person (I was once self employed and did earn a bit more one year) so i am happy at the moment. My roll is very varied which is very interesting albeit challenging

The thread is meant as a bit of fun, not "my house is bigger than yours" ((I wonder who would go down that road? ) :)

Which one are you?

I'm not a conductor or driver so no, I did when I was a conductor.

What did you strike over? They change the toilet roll brand or were Southern trying to charge passengers for looking in the mirrors?
