Not the greatest 3rd album (which is the point of the thread) but Super Furry Animals 'Guerrilla' I thought was a superb 3rd album effort.

Led Zeppelin III, play it far more often than any of their other studio albums with the possible exception of Physical Graffiti.

They got a lot of stick at the time for not rehashing the first two albums as they went a bit folk/acoustic/weird on the second side but I Iove it.
