Wait. You're telling me, on the biggest Albion fans' forum, that I should email PB to find out what fans' representatives think?!

If you want the club line answer asap, then, yes.

If you want to wait until a FAB member has logged on, seen your thread, thought it worthy of reply, checked their facts and replied with something accurate yet acceptable then maybe chill your boots for a day or two.

It's not like anyone's going to change the "H" now.

I can't believe the reactions of some people on here, seemingly losing their shit because of what a football shirt looks like!

Yeah, might as well turn out in a copy of the Palace shirt...

In terms of "fan engagement" (whatever that means), organising a poll on such a radical change is a sensible thing to to do as well as commercially.

The alternative is an absolute dogs dinner of a shirt that looks like a cover from the Highway Code from the 1980s.

It will go down as one of the most unpopular strips of the modern era. It's appalling.

Oh well lessons learnt. Watch them go all retro next season. Every now and then you need a cock up like this, to produce something better.

Virtually no one likes the kit but come start of the season are we gonna chant about our awful shirt? Condem the players playing in it? Nah so as much as I hate the shirt we are gonna have to 'like' it and lump it. Ideally the club would take note how awful it is and quickly change it but we all know that aint gonna happen.

How about this ( to the tune of freed from desire )
Our shirts are awful
no-one likes that H shape
our shirts are awful
or that silly yellow stripe
etc
Seriously though defo agree with your sentiment , it is a done deal and will not change even if most want it to .

I'm sure we'll hear the club's line in the upcoming Fans' Forum. You're right, nothing is going to change this season's kit (and, again, the FAB obviously weren't in a position to).

Hearing from a former FAB member that representatives were unanimously positive about the new shirt was a shock, given the sentiment on every Albion fans' forum over the past 36hrs or so.

I'm simply seeking assurance that the FAB is going to be honest in future, and that the club is going to be open to honesty from the reps.

That's it.

Maybe I'm reading the thread wrong, but it doesn't seem to me as if Wozza's posts since the first have been of the kind "well?" What say you?" Why aren't you answering, damnit?!" so critcising him for expecting an instant answer and suggesting he contact Barber seem a little wide of the mark. He's asked a question, and has been explaining/answering questions about why he asked it, and in doing so has kept the thread active so that when one of the reps does log in, there's a greater chance of them seeing it and responding.

I'm simply seeking assurance that the FAB is going to be honest in future…

This implies that you don’t think the FAB have been honest thus far. I think this is somewhat unfair as:

i) AFAIK, the FAB is nothing more than a group of individuals who collectively aspire between them to represent a broad cross section of the fanbase (and yes, I’m aware there has been concern expressed about whether the views of younger fans can be adequately represented with current selection of elected folk). Thus, expecting ‘the FAB’ to ‘be honest’ has as much meaning as expecting ‘NSC’ to be honest. It’s a non sequitur.

ii) Your sauce that ‘everyone’ on the FAB gave the new home shirt a thumbsup appears to be a tweet from an ex-member who is reported to have left the FAB in somewhat dubious and murky circumstances. One sauce (out of eight) can hardly be deemed a fact - and yet you appear to be treating it as such.

As I say, I think you’re being somewhat unfair.

Oh well, I guess we have to put-up with seeing our Albion playing in an absolute sh*tehouse shirt for the next year. It shouldn't be this way though; we spend a lot of money supporting our club and so why do we not have any say in how we are represented on the pitch?

Oh boy.

I simply asked a couple questions - and here, on NSC, because I couldn't find any of the current FAB active on Twitter.

I was curious to know if what I'd read from someone who was at the FAB meeting is true. I still am.

Just asking. No time limits. Nothing rude. No 'entitlement' (Honestly, WTF?).

If you read through the thread, you'll see another user moved on the conversation by mentioning specifics of the FAB shirt 'preview' - not me.

Some of them must surely have seen this thresd. It's curious none of them have replied. Perhaps the club has slapped them with a massive NDA. :)

It's a horrible shirt (especially compared to last season's which was as near proper stripes as fashionista shirt designers will permit these days) and the salmon pink away strip is utter shite too. Both will be rip-roaring successes (expecting a statement from PB soon - if not out there already - that it is the most popuar Brighton shirt (even though actually it's an H for Hove Albion shirt) ever).

This is because people buy the bloody things, regardless of their shitness. Same as all those people voting Tory, regardless - they just do, because ................. well, f*** knows why really, but they do.

Are you saying in a round about way that if Liz Truss designed the shirt, it would look like that ?

We've just had a statement through from the office of Ms Truss: "The shirt appears to have a big H on the front. That. Is. A. DISGRACE."

I haven't seen him for absolutely years, but last time I did, the back of his shirt read "KRI PIES." :lolol:

Well, I bought the solid-ish blue pinstripe shirt a couple of seasons ago as I rather liked it, and its had several airings at home games, as well as in my garden when its STINKING hot, as its nice and loose and airy.

But as far as the latest incarnation goes - I would rather shatter my jaw on a concrete bollard than purchase that hot mess, let alone be seen in it. And if I was on the FAB, I'd say the same.

Doesn’t that imply a Crawley Town or Ebbsfleet type management structure ? The Albion just isn’t owned in that way. We may spend a lot of money but it is not for ownership and is minor when compared to money spent by TB. I spend a lot of money in Sainsbury’s but don’t expect a say in their staff uniform design. Tony employs people to make commercial decisions and whether or not people like the shirt will be decided in sales rather than loud voices on the internet. I think that the vast majority of Brighton fans don’t post on NSC, Facebook, Twitter or whatever. Of those that do, an even smaller number express their opinion on shirt design. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like the shirt. However I accept I don’t have a say. It’s a commercial decision and if lots of the ‘silent majority’ buy it then the choice will be vindicated. Silence doesn’t mean their opinions are worth any less and the FAB is supposed to represent the entire support.

and if we have a consistent season finishing 6th.
In 12 months time the response will be

"What's this shite, last season's shirt was much better".
