I learnt that the magnetically readable string of characters along the bottom of a cheque have to be so precise in size that even 1/300th of an inch too narrow will cause a failure when being read by the magnetic character reading machine thingy.

Interesting huh ?

That's roughly 0.1mm. That's an awful lot in engineering terms. They seem to have factored for some very dodgy printers.

I learnt that when that particle accelerator thingy at CERN gets switched on next week that it could create several mini black holes which may devour the planet...............oh well,at least it would save us from having to endure another gutless defeat at the hands of Croatia.
