What did Neil Kinnock say about Falmer? it sounded exciting news.

Only that he bended Prescott's earhole about it. Didn't say if it had any effect on him. But Prescott and Kinnock go way back in politics for 20 or 30 years, so work it out - it just shows how much the GREAT pro-stadium campaign COVERED EVERY BASE :)

On NSC for over two decades...
Kinnock was on the Park & Ride from Mill Road before the match, and he was asked directly whether he knew anything about the outcome of the Inquiry, and he said he didn't. He also said he'd been to Withdean before and was right behind the new Stadium at Falmer - said that your new lady MP had been VERY vocal on the issue.

YES, IT WAS VERY EXCITING!!

I was listening on Seagulls World just after the match, overall without actually saying it he was clearly expecting a yes. From memory some of his points were;

The City of Brighton and Hove was crying out for such a facility.

He said it is rediculous that the planning process had taken so long, and that applications for contraversial nuclear power stations had taken less time.

JP would give NK no inication of which way the decision will go, but JP told NK he is well aware of the support the stadium has from MPs nationally as well as locally.

He had visited the new stadium at Swansea and was very impressed - saying it was just the sort of thing we needed.

Our team is of a status worthy of the stadium, and that our results would improve when we have it.

In summary he was very positive, he didnt mention a single thing which might count against the stadium.

Good on you NK :drink: :drink: :drink:

I thought his most telling comment was that the Sizewell B Nuclear Reactor on the Suffolk coast took just five years for planning permission to be granted and our stadium so far has taken seven and a half. That was quite a scathing analogy really. :nono:

So do I. Kinnock was very very well informed. He also commented on how good the playing surface was at Withdean, let down by the rest of the ground.

He seemed very knowedgable about the whole situation. Even talked about us losing the Goldstone.

I was very disapointed that he didn't say "Boyo", not even once.
