I like Strictly, but do shout at Bruce "look at me I'm so funny" Forsyth quite a lot. Really, isn't it about time he was "retired". Can't stand the bloke.

I once tried to make a joke at him at a charity gold do at Selsdon Park about 30 years ago...he couldn't think of a funny line in response. I reckon he's totally unfunny away from the camera.

No script writer or autocue near enough I expect.

Snobbery, I suspect.
"I'm far too intelligent to lower myself to the levels of the watching millions..."

.
Why do people who DO like it always trot out that line to defend themselves? And despite Clapham's sterling defence it IS just a glorified game show with Z-List celebrities. If you do like it that's fine (and I have far too much respect for you Mr 10 to slag off your TV watching habits, you too Clapham), but you have to accept that some people find all those sort of programmes contrived, unwatchable rubbish. Nothing to do with snobbery, just different tastes. I can think of a gazillion things I'd rather be watching, and fortunately with a full Sky package I usually can find something more rewarding (for me) to watch.

I don't really feel the need to defend myself over it. After all, its just light entertainment. And I can see why its not everyones cup of tea, but you do often get some holier-than-thou "oh how can you watch that shite" - type attacks on here. I certainly don't see you as one of the ones vehemently attacking the show branding those who watch it as dunderheads, probably because you don't bother with the IACGMOOH threads as it doesn't interest you. Which is fair play.

For me, I just find it entertaining, it sometimes has some LOL moments, and Ant n Decs pisstaking can be quite funny. Does that make me a slack-jawed drooling imbecile ? I don't think so, but some folk will no doubt brand me as such. Hell, I've even got mates (in the real world - honest !) who take the piss out of me watching it.

Meh. Just a bit of fun innit.

Oh for sure. I like my fair share of 'crap' as well, (ergo I am not a cultural snob). Recently I've been watching a load of American dross called 'Flash Forward'. Actually I don't even like it, but we have to watch it because my wife's cousin (Jessika Goyer) is one of the producers. God I'll be glad when it's over.

None for me.

Family Guy, Inbetweeners, Peep Show and MoTD when United lose, and that's about it.

If we are talking trash tv then surely Top Gear has to be right up there in the mix

Surely you would consider most tv is trash if you don't like a particular programme ??

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
I have dabbled in most of them, but don't watch them. Mainly sitting in on friend/flatmate watching them. None of them really interest me that greatly.

I do however really enjoy 'Friends', 'Come Dine with Me' and 'Home and Away'. I am sure there will be people that think they are crap and I did watch about four hours solid of 'America's Got Talent' and really enjoyed that.

I don't watch much TV nowadays and mainly stick to BBC - Life and so on...

Freecycle has gifted me about 50 books, so I have my work cut out for me.
