I doubt when faced with the reality in the ballot box many will. This country needs voting based on the national agenda not local ones.

What are the local issues which might persuade a substantial number of people to vote Green in Brighton Pavillion? Personally I think they're a bunch of crackpots who're about as fit to run this nation as the BNP, but I'm intrigued that they are so popular down there.

Who says the popularity for them is based solely on local issues? And if you don't know why they're so popular, how are you in a position to dismiss them as crackpots?

God knows, but Brighton is full of weirdos and lefties who may well vote for a hard left car hating party, who quite frankly shouldn't even be voted a place in the parliament of LA-LA Land!!:wrong:

Thankfully, the electorate as a whole have enough savvy not to vote too many of these crackpots into power,so we can all be grateful that their policies will carry little or no weight, and consequently they will be unable to ruin the country!!:clap2:

I read the Green leaflet that was put through my door with an open mind. Not going to comment on their points on green issues, I would assume they know an aweful lot more about that than I do, but the rest of their policies were ridiculous IMO.

You say it like it's a bad thing. :p

It is not necessarily a bad thing......I count a number of weirdos and lefties amongst my friends and aquaintances...I like 'em but do not agree with many of their views and politics.
At least all of us on NSC agree on one thing....we all support the same football team!!

Bushy,I agree with you,but even I, as a lifelong Conservative, have to say that I reckon a Green Party Government would be even worse than the present lot!!!

Exiled from the South Country
Labour held St Helens North. Dave Watts will see his majority decrease, but still safe.

I'll be voting for him for personal reasons - he's been a real help and gone the extra mile for us in a real sticky process of getting funding for specialist further education for my eldest son; who has autism.

Leicester West. Been Labour since the Battle of Hastings, no chance of it ever changing.

Patricia "Political-influence-for-rent" Hewitt stepping down, had a majority of about 10,000 so replacement Liz Kendall will have no problem winning here. Only question is where does my protest vote go?
