I'll never wear colours to a game where I go via train. Its not worth the aggro. I know the state I get into at away games and the last thing I want is to be passed out on the Victoria to Brighton train and get pasted while unconscious by a few scum fans for having the stripes on show. Going by car, its not a problem coz you dont get pissed up and dont go to "off the beaten track" pubs. Reading this season for example.

As for what Safeway said, I go along with that as I know that I would have been in the shit a fair few times if I had been wearing colours in certain situations. i.e. Leicester, Sheff Wed & numorous London games.

Also for the London games you'll never get into the pubs in the city in the evening if your wearing colours. We (bha.fatboy & myself) actually got banned from Yates in Leicester Square for having colours...well that and singing "you can stick your f***ing pasties up your arse" to a load of Plymouth fans!! :lolol: :lolol:

so what if they give u grief for wearing the shirt! its very rare they'll attack you just for wearing it! and most if not all away matches have pubs for away fans! ive been to away matches and had verbal abuse, but so what!

even after the palace game i walked past a pub filled with palace fans sitting outside and i was proudly wearing my shirt! they threw abuse but who cares, its only banter!

So are you going to wear colours at Cardiff? Stay away from the rest of us if you do, although at least it should take some heat off us.

Simple fact is, that in London a lot of pubs will not let you in if you are in colours, something we learnt very quickly whilst at Gillingham as we could not get into the pubs in Victoria wearing them.

Same here.

Nothing to do with being a hoolie, it just reduces the risk of bother if you go 'plain clothed'. Coming out of Molineux was a good example. There was a nice welcoming commitee outside and walking back to the car there were plenty of locals ready to have a pop if a word was said.

Anyone get any trouble then ?

on the question of albion shirts, what era was it when the wearing of your teams colours became popular, replacing the traditional scarf/bobblehat etc? which was the first season we had advertising on shirts? dont know the answers myself but would be interested as how far back any one can go to recall the first time they bought an albion shirt. did not get one myself until i think the Sandtex season whenever that was
