Yep, get a mainline train from london bridge to charlton station, they usually go from platform 1 to Slade green, Charlton is the fifth stop.

I was drinking in Croydon yesterday. It really really is a shithole. Had a few beers with my brother in a Wetherspoons pub outside West Croydon station before going to a gig. The guy next to us sat there muttering to himself for the entire time and occasionally shouting "Don't be calling me up you fat c*nt" at his phone. There was another bloke with some bandages round his head a la Paul Ince in that Italy game who it transpired had just been released from hospital. His first port of call had not been home and a rest but obviously Wetherspoons. Instead of nursing his head he was nursing a pint of strong cider. Numbs the pain I suppose. And his mate had a face that looked like it had been ten rounds with Mike Tyson, but was really only that colour because it had drunk ten pints of stella. He was jabbing his finger into his mate's chest and calling him "a f***ing wrong'un". At least none of them tried to chat me up though.
