My wife has one of these (2.0T) - nice interior but I don't like the drive; the car's very heavy and doesn't accelerate well without changing down. Now my Golf 1.9TDI is something very different!

Automatic cars do less miles to the Gallon by up to 20% i would look at the combined figures carefully first!

My best two chices in that size would be either an Astra of a Focus Golf coming in 3rd as expensive to maintain compared to the other two!
