Making my way through the Slough House books by Mick Herron.
Basically, they are modern spy stories but with a dry, sardonic twist to them. I’m on the fourth now, Spook Street, having read the first 3. I’m really enjoying them.
Tried to read that so many times, but have never got beyond about 5 pages in before binning it off. I’m giving - - - (the second book in the series) a go now, hoping for greater things.
My Mrs has read all his DI Nick Dixon ones, 10 of them I think
Damion Boyd wrote the Nick Dixon series.
Leaving Berlin - Joseph Kanon
The Brighton Mermaid - Dorothy Koomson
Just purchased off EBay a hour ago...without reading this thread.
Wanted a book similar to the Peter James Roy Grace series.
