The Drones

The Stupids

"We're The Stupids and we wear Clarks Commandoes". Loved The Stupids and ironically as a kid had a pair of Clarks Commandoes!

For me, though I have loved a lot of bands, the one which made me is The Jam. Though bit shout outs to The Wedding Present, Specials, Small Faces, Dodgy, S*M*A*S*H, The Bluetones, Field Mice and anything on Sarah Records.

Early years: T.Rex, Mott the Hoople and Cockney Rebel. And Bowie to a lesser extent.

Early teens: The Clash, The Ramones and Graham Parker

Late teens: The Birthday Party, Echo & the Bunnymen, Wasted Youth. And perhaps above all The Pop Group (and Rip, Rig & Panic) for teaching me you don't need a tune to make great music.

Adulthood: Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Wedding Present, Pogues, Sonic Youth, Underworld.

The future is unwritten...

Depends at which time:

Madness
Ultravox
Simple Minds
Marillion

Although hearing the intro to 'Urgent' by Foreigner brings it all flooding back too.
