At Uni it was chocolate raisens.

Now it's checking my bank account. I reckon I log in 5 times a day. No idea why. There's nothing in there.

I don't buy cereal as I end up eating about 3 bowls a day. Special K was the worst.

Same here.

Always get choc raisens at the cinema, gone before the film starts. We’ve got Special K in he house just now for our kids, but I help myself to an unnecessary mid evening snack.

I'm not ready to accept that any of my vices are an addiction.

Porn wasn’t specific enough in the poll so I just plumped for cocaine.
This is making me wonder how many people use cocaine, as someone posted in a footy thread that it was the high of choice for most young men (as opposed to alcohol). There maybe another poll coming up!

Anything I touch, unfortunately. I haven't had a drink since Boxing Day, but I have replaced this addiction with Pokémon cards. I really, really, really wish I was joking.

Send help.

I have always had a habit of bouncing from addiction to addiction. Sometimes positive, more often than not. I've suffered for them, and continue to need to be wary of them, but I'm generally able to replace the negative ones within a reasonable period of time. Currently, I'm running 50-60 miles a week in preparation for the Brighton Marathon. When that's over, I'll need to find something else to occupy my time with. Boredom is the ultimate enemy.

What are your addictions?

Are you or have you ever considered yourself to be addicted to anything and if so what? By addiction I mean either a compulsion or a dependence.
Some compulsions may be intermittent with periods of abstinence between each period of compulsive behaviour.
Are you cured of your addiction and if so how did you overcome it?
You can select more than one option in the poll. Obviously the poll doesn't cover everything.

Edit: the option between Porn and NSC is mast'''bation. Censored for some reason!

And what are yours? ????????

I was addicted to Dihydrocodeine for about 10 years. Went through agony weaning myself off it.
What does it do that gets you addicted in the first place?

I had two days of headaches when I stopped drinking coffee, so that must have been an addiction.
Just because the caffine is affecting you, and you'll get withdrawal symptoms, doesn't mean you are addicted. I'd get a headache if I stopped drinking tea.

Live music, and tea.

Couldn't get through life without either.

Good call live music. Music in general actually. I probably get through about 4 albums a day and between 30-40 gigs a year.

Isn’t shop lifting stealing?

Yes, but stealing isn't necessarily shop lifting. Some people might confine their stealing to shoplifting which is a recognised addiction in itself. A stealing disorder otherwise known as kleptomania is when someone has a compulsion to steal in any environment, at work, school, even from family and friends.

What does it do that gets you addicted in the first place?

It is a highly effective pain killer. I was waiting for a hip replacement and was in a lot of pain pre-surgery so ended up on a high dose. After the op when I was no longer in pain I thought I
could stop taking it but suffered terrible withdrawal symptoms when I did. So for years I took one or two tablets a day just to keep the heebejeebees at bay. In the end I started cutting
down to half a tablet, then a quarter etc over a long period until I was finally able to knock it on the head.
