I wonder if we could appeal this? What if there was a situation when the ref blew for full time, but then an hour later when watching the game back you saw a clear hand ball right at the end? They wouldn’t continue the game? (It was a clear pen tho)

We had a couple of free kicks given against us that were probably not. Otherwise, excruciatingly disappointing but nobody to blame but ourselves.

I think you have called that completely wrong. The general buzz was that 'finally' they are doing VAR properly.

Also if you think that was a sucked-dry game today, maybe you might think about following another spor? .

As frustrating at this is, I think we only have ourselves to blame.

We dominated the game and should have put it to bed, but kept hitting the post.

Each time we scored, we lost focus and conceded again shortly after.

We dominated play, had more shots on target.

The match was in our hands and it is frustrating we could not win it against a very ordinary Man Utd side.

This is the thing. United aren't the team they once were and haven't been for ages. They'll drop loads of points this season, esp away.

We have GOT to start taking our bloody chances or we'll never progress. Our own fault today bar the ref at the end.

I’m sure the rule is that when the full time whistle goes the match is over. I’d look deep into it and if there’s a chance of an appeal it should be done.

I would be surprised if we would appeal and even more surprised if it was successful, even if it clearly was a mistake to allow a penalty after the final whistle.

Doesn't the ref stop his watch during the celebrations? The time added on was probably fair.

As much as I would like to blame the ref, we gave the game away today, once we score we need to clear our heads and reset.

I feared the worst when they had the corner tbh.

Firstly great performance
Must take your chances though. We played united off the park and if we took half the chances we would have scored 6.
It is a penalty and the incident happened before the full time whilst blew and despite blowing it if directed to look at VAR whilst on the pitch and a penalty if given and scored the goal still stands.
4th we are a young side but we have got to concentrate after scoring.
All in all far the better team but we have to learn some harsh lessons today

What I have read is that it should have been a single whistle to indicate VAR.

Whatever though it was bloody stupid by Neal and by us to twice just let them cut through us straight after scoring

Yes the referee played more extra time than was necessary.
But, I’ve always believed that when the ref blows the whistle for full time that indicates the end of the match and the score stands, esp as the ball was in play when he blew.

Grow up everyone. We lost because we gave a penalty away before the ref blew for full time. It was a penalty. Why had we left Maguire on his own for a final seconds corner. Talk of appealing and blaming the ref is embarrassing.
