Average, and will not even get a game up front. Will be fifth in teh pecking order behind Owen, martins, Viduka and probably even Ameobi.

Couldn't agree more, still at least you wont see much of him of the pitch barring injuries, Martins, Owen and Viduka are all better than him by a mile, he's GASH.

Don't forget Carroll too, he looks a pretty decent striker prospect, and the young 15 year old Dutch kid they gave a game to last night, I reckon he's better than Smith too.

The fact that fergie didn't want Smith to go would suggest he isn't crap. I'd think that he will be in competition with Viduka as a target man, and Martins or Owen going for the pacy striker position.

Respectfully, bollocks.

If Fergie wanted him to stay he'd offer him a new deal, and tell him he was in his plans. He's done neither so its off to sunny Newcastle for Alan.

Mabye, but they weren't actively looking to sell, they just couldn't guarentee him first team football so he wanted to leave. It's a situation of not good enough to keep at all costs but good enough to keep as a squad player. It still doesn't make him shit

Is that right, Smith said to the press that Fergie hadn't spoken to him for ages and he didn't know where he stood - which was why he was considering his options... As for going to Newcastle, silly move. If he really wants to play week in, week out he should go to bloody Derby or Wigan, a team where he'll be higher up the pecking order

That's what they were implying on talksport the other day, so as HKFC says it could well be utter bollocks
