All the best to you and your family Lander.

I've lost grandparents two years running around this time of year, it was a dreadful time. But in the end, time is a good healer. Hope all goes well with the funeral.

If their deaths were a result of smoking they kinda brought it on themselves.

If not, you have my sympathy.

What you are saying is if you smoke " you deserve to die " if you drink you deserve to die ?, if you eat too much junk food , you deserve to die, if you drive a fast car, you deserve to die

All the best mate, sorry to hear about your loss. And it IS possible to give up smoking, you CAN do it. I was smoking 20-30 a day and gave up on 12th Jan 2005. Haven't had one toke since. It IS possible, you just have to work at it and REALLY want to do it.

I'm so sorry to hear about this, Lander. Good luck with your efforts to give up smoking.
If the relatives you have lost were of my generation (early sixties) then it is possible that they were encouraged to smoke by the tobacco companies. They were giving out the message that smoking was good for relaxation, etc., and publishing photos of "film stars" of the day with cigarettes. But, even as early as the 50s and 60s the the tobacco companies' own research concluded that smoking was harmful, but they continued to sell their product at the same time as ridiculing any medics who were linking smoking with lung diseases. Bastards.

I did try smoking in my teens in the hope that I might look cool, but fortunately for me I gave the totally opposite impression.
