This weekend it has rained in Haywards Heath for the first time for ages and my allotment certainly needs it as the ground under the first 6 inches is still very hard and dry.

After all those heatwaves in recent years I suspect we are beginning to forget what a typical British summer is like. Because a few hours of cloud and rain in July IS typical and certainly not anything worth getting depressed about!

It's pretty good weather for the last month, I certainly appreciate the rain. I don't have to water the garden for the next few days
