What a Load of Rubbish

Blame who you like but for me it's the people who get paid more than the vast majority of us (and most likely the Mansfield players) to be on the pitch who must take the blame.

No one is saying it was anything other than a poor performance by the players. But the debate this am seems to be around the (lack of) support during the game, the thinness of the squad and the missing Dean Hammond.

The team were poor. No debate.

The players got what they deserved, they can't turn up with the 'Don't worry it's only Mansfield' attitude and just expect to win, with a few exceptions, namely Kuipers, Elder, El-Abd, Reid, Forster & Butters the rest should feel f***ing ASHAMED.

Do you know I am in my 3rd year as a STH and answer to the name of Lucky.

An old lady saw me on Saturday morning and I looked a bit glum.. She said "smile things could be worse" so I went to the football and realised she was right. I always defend the team as they are mostly young and undoubtably look at this site, So being a middle aged slightly rotund slightly balding critic servers no purpose to man nor beast as I was never a good player myself.

However what I saw yesterday was sooooooooo bad I have been left speechless. I thought it couldn't get any worse after the Blackpool game last year but we seemed to have found a new level yesterday.

I think our performance is best summed up by Ben this morning when he said ' granddad I dont want to go to any more Brighton games and get cold when the players cant be bothered to try. I will watch the football on tele.' He is 13 and I have been taking him since he was 3, even to Gillingham, but now he is older and able to understand the game more.

Or, maybe he put together a good team, that was challenging for promotion, until the tight arse chairman split the squad up.

The Mansfield fans want to get rid of their chairman, an apparent savious, who bought the club on the cheap, but has offered no investment since. yet we still laud Dick Knight as some sort of hero.

I am not seeing a difference between the two sets of circumstances.
Then perhaps you need to take your head out of your arse. Knight took over a club at the bottom of the league just as it lost its ground on the way to sharing at Gillingham. He brought us back to Brighton (OK it's a bit shit but it's home for now). He has now overseen the final getting of permission to build a shiny new stadium against a lot of opposition and despite the incompetence of a senior government minister. Against the backdrop of all this he has managed to attract managers who have got the club to higher than it's historic position and into the Championship for 3 seasons.

What the f*** does he have to do to satisfy people like you and the laughingly named sir albion? Win the Champions League?

Kick his arse and tell him to suffer like the rest of us. :D

Completely agree it was absolutley shocking.
We seemed to have one tactic which was to just hoof the ball up the pitch to the front two, it was clear this wasn't working after about 15 minutes.

Yes,this is the Wilkins method.

1) Kick ball in air.

2) Chase it.

It doesn't work, and never will, but there are those who think Norman Novice is the best manager since Brian Clough, when he is really Ron Knee reincarnate.

I have a horrible feeling that we are on a downward spiral. While new players will be welcome, I am not sure they will make that much difference at the moment. We have players who can be @good@, but something is wrong. I fear Wilkins is out of his depth and I think we need an experienced, professional manager who can organise the players and get them to play or we could be in trouble.

Fans on here are split and having a go at each other, and it is getting more and more vitriolic. One thing is for sure - you cannot enforce an attitude of @do not moan@ to paying supporters. People know when they have paid to watch shit. Dick needs to act now or it will be Div 3 football in front of 3,000 arguing fans.
