I was expecting a proper clash last night, and it was all over within 35 minutes. I don't know about you, but I thought it was boring, not helped by a totally gutless performance from Arsenal.

Please bring back the european giants like AC Milan, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and bring some class back to this tournament, before it dies.

Get over it man, United are the European Giants at the moment. They just need some decent competiton. Perhaps the European Super League is what is needed now.

What a load of old cock. They aren't European Giants anymore because they're not very good anymore. So United's 3rd goal wasn't a classic piece of counter attacking.
United went with a job and a gameplan to execute and they carried it out brilliantly.

I think it was boring. Arsenal where gutless. Lets hope tonights match is better.

It won't be.... Chelsea will go all out defensive because if Barca score it's all over IMO. People are saying Barca will win easily after trouncing Madrid but that is not the case at all. The only way tonights game is going to be intersting is if Barca score an early goal and Chelsea have to chase the game

it was boring because after 11 minutes Arsenal needed to score 4 goals against the best defence in Europe and that was never going to happen. I don't think that can be used as a yardstick for measuring the quality of the Champions League.

In effect this is a european super league in all but name Superphil.

I don't give Chelsea a prayer, they cannot go defensive at home the crowd will get on their backs and Barca will hit them on the break...but then I thought Arsenal had a good chance

You never know... But I agree the Chelsea fans will probably get impatient I think their best chance is to either go at them in the first 15 mins or stay defensive and try and take the game to penalties

Or we could just kick them out of the league and let them play in the Argentinian league, somewhere where we don't have to put up with them. #

Don't watch them then.

I'm sure if the Albion were in Europe and played like that you'd be delighted.

It was men against boys last night. I never felt that the Arse stood a chance, they are not in the same league a United any more. They have one world class player and for my money he is a bit lightweight physically. I'm no United fan but they have the best team, best squad and best manager by far.

I think they should scrap the away goals ruling, because like last night, it can kill a tie stone dead before its even started. Lose the first leg away 1-0 and Its almost insurmountable if the away team then scores first in the 2nd leg, leaving the home team needing 3 without reply during the 90.

OK we had a classic 2nd leg between Chelsea and Liverpool in the previous round, due to Liverpool coming out all guns blazing as they needed to score at least 3, but more often than not, the away goal just kills the tie as a spectacle. Its TOO valuable.

It wouldn't have been men against boys if....

a) their left back hadn't fallen over and Park had scuffed the finish into the ground

b) that cheating twat had stayed on his feet

c) the Spanish waiter didn't have holes in his hands

Arsenal started superbly but had the stuffing knocked out of them in two ridiculous passages of play. Oh well, we can at least pretend United are the best team in the world for another week......

I know that you and I are on opposite sides of the Man U coin, but I agree with everything you have said there.

I'd love to see away goals and penalty shoot-outs ditched.

They didn't have to do much after the 11th minute so it's hardly reasonable to judge Man U on that.

I don't watch them, I don't watch any football channels that they may be mentioned on or buy papers the day they play or the day after they play. (unless they lose of course then I'll watch the highlights and enjoy)

Just remember though that they have a load of absolute scummers in their team that I detest when they play for England so I certainly wouldn't like the likes of Ro***do in the Brighton team. Blimey the fans were annoyed enough with Leon Knights dives, what would it be like if we played the Portuguese version of Tom Daley - No thanks.

I can't believe people still think barca are going to walk it tonight. They thrashed a very poor madrid side at the weekend (the same madrid that liverpool beat at a canter), that means nothing. It will be tight but I think Chelsea will shade it 1-0

... the tournament doesn't just start in the semi-finals. They got knocked out, remember?
