No, they're dumps too, but at least dumps that you can get out of quite easily and be by the sea or on the Downs in 10 minutes.

Ten minutes from West Ham and where are you? Somewhere equally depressing.

Newhaven is a dump.

Good enough for four Albion players.
I have views over the river, South Downs and Peacehaven golf course.
There are luxury flats being built down by the waterfront and direct trains to Victoria now.
It's fast becoming the in place to be.

Boy, you never forget.

Haven't changed my mind ...I'm afraid Newhaven is still a dump, but its advantage over West Ham is that in a few minutes you can be outside the town and in some truly beautiful countryside.

After 33 years in Yorkshire I love it here.

Way out west
Can I nominate the area around Celtic Park in the East End of Glasgow as the roughest place to go and watch football...it really makes Beiruit look tidy, but you are all right in saying that it is only going on awaydays that makes you appreciate where you actually live.

...and a town centre fast becoming a ghost town thanks largely to the ring road which ensures that no one ever stops there.

I'm guessing from the views you say you have that you don't actually live in Newhaven at all, but maybe Denton...

No. It's definitely the Brighton side of the river.

its a nice enough ground in a typical inner city surroundings

you can say the same about ANY inner city stadium

suprised that so many fans were crushing to get into two chippies when there were thousands along to the two mains roads mind , whats that all about?
