Last night I was led to believe by the rather delicious Becky Mantin, that I should stay indoors, batten down the hatches, nail down the dog,get extra food etc because there was a storm of enormous proportion about to hit the south coast.
With trepedation and a little bit of excitement, I therefore settled in and snuggled up to the wife awaiting the big storm.
Now, I actually fell asleep quite early ( 11ish ) so, waking up this morning, my first thought is..."ooh bugger,I missed the storm - wonder what damage it did?"

*Oddly enough, I also slept through the hurricane of 1987*

Anyway, I peer out the window expecting to find my greenhouse gone, trees embedded in the car and the Athina B in my garden but no.....nothing....naff all. No rain,no damage, not even a slightly startled seagull. What a gip!:tantrum:
Having said all that....it is very windy here in BN3...

A little bit of thunder and I have two devoutly cowardly dogs fighting to hide under my desk !

We seem to have a severe weather warning almost every day nowadays.
Pathetic.

That was just the overture. The main event will be here later today. Although looking at the synopsis charts, I think they are going over the top a bit with the," we are all going to die scenario."

Most of Falmer Stadium has been blown down the A27 in both directions and two of our fence panels came down but that's about it.

You really don't do yourself any favours do you...

you did not look it up did you?

I was there people were killed not just blown over....stop moaning about a windy night.#

you just did not get my point...I will type slowly so you can understand..

WHEN THE BRITS COMPLAIN ABOUT THE PATHETIC EUROPEAN WEATHER THEY SHOULD THINK ABOUT OTHERS FIRST...ie EXTREME WEATHER

AS Max Boyce used to say "I know...I was there" now stop crying and repair your fence panels, its hardly changing is it?

I'm not British

But why make this thread into a pissing competition? The "my storm (dick) is bigger than yours" syndrome you suffer from ...

Pathetic.

I think the weather forecasting fraternity have never got over the infamous Michael Fish prediction in 1987 and so go slightly overboard these days.

Almost exactly a year ago I was weatherbound for 3 days on an FPSO on the North Sea due to a Force 9 coming down from Norway & causing a 40 foot swell and 60-70 MPH gusts and hence no helicopter flights - that was a proper storm!
