[Albion] What a brilliant game of football

Re Steele, tonight really emphasised how MOTD were correct when they discussed everything starting with him. He was brilliant tonight with his feet - some utterly sublime longer balls.

Its insane how calm our players are on the ball - even current fringe players. Cruyff turning and alsorts all over the show in our own final third against the best team in the world. Just an absolute joy to watch!
I've just remembered the Gross turn that Van Hecke did in the penalty box. Humongous balls.

Would love to see a clip of it again

Point of order: I think it’s now been renamed the Gross turn

Please let us give Villa a footballing lesson on Sunday, to beat those shithousers at home and give them the shits about not qualifying for Europe, as the other games are playing out, would be a highlight of the season for me. Yes I do dislike them that much.

I am still buzzing. Feel incredibly tired after all the shouting and singing and have to teach Y5 this morning somehow with a voice that can only muster a croaky whimper. But my goodness, what a team we have, absolutely overflowing with young talent. And Julio! My heart felt like it would explode when that rocket hit the back of the net, to celebrate like that for a man of my age is simply unsafe! I felt that his goal was most certainly the best goal to grace the Amex and on the way home at about 11pm, Tony Bloom confirmed it and said it was the best, well that's good enough for me. This is dreamland, fantasy stuff from the Albion, more than half a century of watching us up and down the country, in every league top to bottom and never for one moment did I ever contemplate us ever having a team like this, a season like this. I am so happy right now, who was it on here who said they pity the 'poor dead souls' who don't like football - well spot on chap!

I had to pinch myself when Steele plucked the ball off Haaland's foot in the first half... imagine if you could go back in time and show that to him when he was having that torrid time at Sunderland.
That was truly magnificent. It looked long odds-on for Haaland to score from that position. But Steele thought otherwise

I can't categorise it.

It wasn't a pre season friendly.
It wasn't the Community Shield.
But it definitely wasn't a rank and file EPL game.

All I can come up with is:-

"My favourite bit was when Maximus thrust his sword into the centre spot".

I believe that @Prodnose's tweet when City beat United to the title in injury time was:

'Football, f***ing football. Imagine not being into it. Those poor, poor half alive bastards.'

Yes that's the one, I remembered the essence if not the words. Thanks!

The only thing prior to last night that could have scuppered Europa League was a massive goal difference swing. So what do we do? Go toe to toe, man for man against one of the best teams in the world with a load of kids. De Zerbi's motivation and organisation must be off the scale
