Many congratulations to Brighton & Hove Albion Powerchair captain, and previous Albion Roar guest Matt Francis, who has been selected to represent England in the Powerchair World Cup taking place in Florida this summer.

Bearing in mind Matt's first foray into football was the third-last match at Withdean (against Dagenham & Redbridge), it's a meteoric rise. It's also another thing our football club can be proud of, giving Matt the opportunity to hone his skills.

Here's hoping Matt and the team can bring the trophy home.

Now - any suggestions for the official England Powerchair World Cup song...?

Everyone at Albion in the Community is incredibly proud of Matt. To be selected as one of only eight players representing England at the World Cup is a fantastic achievement.

There is a story on the AITC website HERE for anyone who is interested.

We have another one in Lee Farrell, who has played for the deaf team at international level.
