I do not have a general definition for you, however out all the pubs in central Worthing I have visited, I believe this to be the only decent one.

Im certain that over the xmas/new year period I had a drink in the priory in HH. Not sure if it was a spoons tho!

One at the Marina is good with nice outside balcony in the summer.

Generally i don't like them but having got to a few over the years at the Burgess Hill away games, i'd say that the best have been Fleet. Godalming, Horsham and i like the Lloyds at the marina.
The worst have been... Ashford (Kent), Salisbury and Hastings.i
