West Upper - the place to be?

I think the West Upper will have the best views and is a good price. The reason I didn't go for it is that I believe if you are too high at football you don't feel part of the atmosphere. Basically, I like to be within a distance of the pitch that means when I shout at a player he can hear me. And if the other team's manager is a dick I can tell him. You won't get that from the upper.

Yeah, you're a bit of a distance from the bench (you're not obscenely high as someone suggested though), but the acoustics are something else.

Yeah, I'm willing to bet I'm right. As I said, the view = top notch. The acoustics = pretty good I imagine. The price = very reasonable. It's certainly not a bad place to sit, and I'd rather be up there than behind the goal. But look at the webcam and see how high it is. Bear in mind just the lower tier is bigger than the South Stand at Withdean, and it can be a bit distant from the back of that. Then you've got the 1901 tier plonked on top. You will be too high to make it worthwhile shouting at an opposition player when he goes in knee-high on Elliott.

I've had a shout (albeit in an empty ground) in the WSU. The sound really travels - really travels - when you're right under that roof.

Believe me, you want to be heard on the pitch from the WSU? No worries.

Depends where u mean in the west upper.

Our seats are 6 rows from the front and its not actually THAT far away. The roof is so low the noise will be incredible and i definitely think when its full you'll still feel involved with the game and players. (pitch invasions may be tricky!)

I will be going in the family stand. Hope to be near the front, but far enough back to stay dry. I would have chosen WSU, but it was expensive with 2 little ones.

As for the North. I would expect this to be full every game, even if its not all sold to STH's. These will be the 1st seats to sell when a game goes on general sale, as they will be the cheapest. The only others that are liekly to be available will be Family, East stand south end......

That's in an empty stadium though. You could get a cat to miaow particularly vociferously and hear it from the next tier if it's surrounded by deathly silence. I think we will find the West Upper makes a good noise and is a decent place to be, but as individuals people will feel unattached from the game they are watching.

Anyway, I don't mean this to be an argument in any way. The beauty of the stadium is that it caters for everyone. There is absolutely no best place to sit, as everybody is different. I can't for the life of me see why people like to sit in the front row by the side of the pitch, but plenty do. Hopefully everyone gets something close to their favoured position.

Absolutely, there is something for everyone in the new stadium. Each area offers a different experience and most people will find something that suits their preference.

West lower will be good and hopefully be some noise down there as well.

The roof is so low to the West upper I don't think it will take alot to get the sound cracking out. I'm pretty sure this will have an effect on the lower as well.

Regarding not having an effect on the players on a bad tackle etc, yes it won't be as intimidating for the player but we will be one voice under that roof and as I say it should spark the west lower.

Every one chooses what they choose due to their preference, should be superb.

Once the north stand has been extended/corners filled in due course it'll be rocking.

However for now we've booked a massive block in west stand upper just off centre and ALL of us are singers .... Its

I could trawl through the interweb and find the answer somewhere, but from memory I think it's about 5,500.

Upper tiers are always good, I know it's behind the goal but the Trent End Upper at the City Ground produces and incredible noise, particularly with Mull of Kintyre as the teams run out
