Eh ? Scenery ?? Seriously ?? You don't think much of the simply magnificent views from, say, Firle Beacon perhaps, or above Cuckmere Haven or anywhere along the Seven Sisters are up to much then ? Downland around Alfriston ? (I'm in West Sussex by the way).

He obviously hasn't seen much of the East Sussex countryside.
All of the places you have mentioned have stunning views, I will add the area around Telscombe Village, Bishopstone Village and the views from any high ground around Lewes.

How about a shout out for the people's republic of mid-Sussex. Border folk one and all. Ask the good folks of Danehill and Horstead Keynes what that border means! Rivals from birth in every aspect of life and there is cross border competition in everything from annual school and village football matches, pub darts, drinking competitions, to flower shows! All great fun really as we are all Sussex but East is most definitely best.

I am struggling to think of something that would entice me to East Sussex other than BHA of course. Scenery No, Towns and shops No, easy access No, other than the A23 to Brighton.

I find this hard,i admit Sussex is No Devon for example, but East Sussex has some outstanding natural beauty, then there are the towns of Lewes & Rye......what's the easy access for?

I'd say East Sussex. But the countryside around Horsham and over the Ardingly/Balcombe area is my favourite walking territory.
