Fun fact - Dan Lawrence has taken as many wickets in 2 overs today as Nathan Lyon took in 76 against Pakistan earlier this week

Slipping away from England, perhaps a couple of experienced Test Bowlers might have helped?

I was thinking that. A couple of wise heads who've done well there before. Shame we haven't got any, otherwise they would have been on the tour. I did have a dream about us having two bowlers with over 1000 wickets between them. Just a dteam

England 77-1 so, effectively, 13-1. Fifty partnership up for this pair. It will be interesting to see if either side look to seize the initiative or if the match drifts towards a draw.

169/1 lead of 105

Given Root a conservative captain can’t see anything other than a draw

Lead now 285 with 73 overs left in the day (minus 2), blimey Root is calling them in!

EDIT surely we should have taken lead past 300, if only for the psychological effect...

Incredible shot in the circumstances. Incredible.

Well in the end the Wicket won.

Well done for Root's declaration, but perhaps England management might consider two fast bowlers, currently with their feet up back here, who might be able to help out?
