I agree re best football etc. Would just prefer to see Lamptey in that position personally. I just find Solly so frustrating as he does that hard work so well but just rarely has that end product. Each to their own however. Great win all round and an amazing start to the season

I love Lamptey, pre injuries he was unplayable eg at SJP a couple of years ago, hurdling over Saint Maximin etc as they tried to hack him down.

That type of injury seems to have knocked his confidence to run in top gear .... for now.

So 3 games in. 3 very good performances. 2 wins and 1 draw (which we deserved to win). Away wins against Ham and United. Outplayed a decent Newcastle team. If we add 1 or 2 more quality players (striker and maybe a defensive mid) before the transfer window shuts then another top ten finish is definitely possible, or do we even dream Europe.

In the CH era you knew that we would hanging on for dear life 0-1 up with 20 minutes whatever the opposition.

Today was very relaxing after the 2nd goal. West Ham looked only threatening in the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half.

We’ve put in a wonderful away performance and some posters are moaning about Solly March, who had a good game despite missing a gilt edge chance, couldn’t make it up!

March played extremely well. It was a bad miss but we know finishing is not his strong point.

Moyes made his change with Scaramanga and Potter totally blocked it bringing on Pervis to form a back 4.

West Ham were toast after that and only really had their recent set-piece decisiveness as a threat.

I like Lamptey, but, IMO, March is the better option. I don’t think Lamptey is as composed nor as skilful as March - also, the link-up play between him and Gross is very good.
I think Lamptey will need to improve his overall game as he’s lost the surprise element and teams are working out how to cover his pace better now. Lamptey often has to stop and pass back now as he doesn’t have the same level of skill to go past players IMO.

March used to be frustrating by stopping and turning back all the time.

I was listening on the radio and it was like Albion were the only team there.

Is it me, or do you look like we have a lot more control of the game in the last 20 minutes than we ever have done before? I can’t remember seeing this level of confidence as we stroke the ball around the opposition.

Warren seems to be using Pervis rather than his surname. Did just call Mitoma Mititoma... and my missus was listening to the commentary as well and said "He's not still calling him Tossard is he?!"

Suspect we could be second on MOTD2 - The Mighty Leeds will of course be in pole position.

Lamptey doesn't seem back to the way he was before his long term hamstring injury. I don't know if that's gradually trusting his hamstring or he has to reduce his pace in the future.
