I think those days are over.

Moder is not far behind Groß with his set pieces but has a lot more power and pace to his game. We only need one goal shy & slow playmaker and it’s Lallana’s turn tonight. That said, I think it’s essential that him or Groß play alongside Biss. I think they are smartest players in the team as well as being the best passers.

He is competing with Peak-Trossard and a very good Moder who only needs goals added to his game. Factor in Mwepu who was stunning against Liverpool plus Potter’s odd urge to play Lallana at No.10 every now and then and you’ll see what a mountain Mac has to climb. I really like him as a player but he has so much competition.
