I think the very fact that Fat Sam said that if they weren't fighting for their premiership lives they wouldn't bother just screams of desparation to me. Waste of time for everybody involved. Hopefully it will cost West Ham a fair bit of cash as well as this may deter clubs trying this in the future.

Most annoying thing is that it is a certain red card any day of the week!!

apparently the FA are to reconsider their position on this case
which could make it very interesting

If the FA back down then every card issued should be challenged.
Hammers appear to have had "friends in high places" for a long time

Hardly a matter of 'backing down' but more to do with abiding by their own rules which allows a club to go to arbitration or the Court of Arbitration for Sport if they have a diispute with the FA over a decision made by them.

It was because the FA refused initially to allow this that West Ham threatened legal action - not because of the original decision not to rescind the red card.

I don't see what the big deal is.

Brighton / Hove actually
Andy Carroll did subtly give some with his elbow but missed and Chico Flores jumped at the chance to act up to it.

Chico should have got yellow if not an Oscar for his performance but I think the ref got the red card right.

Chico embarrased himself, but that's is an entirely seperate matter. Carroll's red was deserved, and entirely of his own stupid making.

Which is no surprise, as he's clearly an absolute prick.

No chance. Ridiculous move by the Hammers.
