Expecting the same shit different day, but hopefully the lads will prove my pessimism wrong.

What are the odds at 5pm we'll be doing the usual "how can we have had 25 shots and not scored, and they have one and it went in"? We are spookily consistent if nothing else.

Literally every one of the ca 20 attempts shown in this video come off the first touch.

And how many shots did the player look where they were shooting, where the keeper was, where the defender was? You know the basics for shooting unless you play in an under 10's cub side? Inept. Such a good side but beyond dreadful in front of goal. How the manager can't see this and not address it in training is beyond me. How he has kept Maupay as first name on the team sheet since October shows that his judgement is flawed. Our midfield must be sick and tired of a centre forward who shoots like a 10 year old - without looking where he is shooting. Steve Foster as a centre back was better in front of goal than Maupay.

Lallana played for England and is a highly rated player but even he shoots like a nervous rookie. No way is Potter to blame for our shit finishing. If we had better players they would be playing, so who should Potter be picking? His style results in us getting so many chances, we just don’t take them and we have had the shittest luck in the PL with keepers having blinders against us and pretty well none of the deflections going our way, yet opposition deflections often end up in the back of the net.

23 of the attempts were from non-Maupay players. I know the basics of shooting yes. As for the midfield being "sick and tired", the Albion strikers have scored a fairly normal number of goals while the midfield is pretty far from the mid-table teams with their meagre production of 7 goals. But we had this debate on Monday - according to you its the job of the strikers to score, according to me its the job of the team. So perhaps lets agree to disagree.

It's not luck. Out inability to score goals has been ongoing for too long to be luck. If you look at how we shoot, we have a team of players (including forwards) who seem to think that you have your head down, look at the ball, smack it as hard as you can and trust to luck. Just like a 10 year old. Until they start looking where they shoot then they wont score goals. It's nothing to do with luck, it's being inept in front of goal.
You would be right to say that but equally you would think, by the law of averages, one blocked shot would deflect into the goal or dribble to an unmarked player in a better position. That's were we lack luck. A touch of both more skill in front of goal and a little luck would not go a miss.

The paucity of goals from midfield is much more telling than the goals from forwards imo

The forwards have missed sitter after sitter. They have not scored the goals they should have given the chances. If you, me and cleaner can see that they shoot like ten year olds without looking where they are shooting then yes, I do blame the manager for failing to address it in training. Yes I do blame the manager for picking Maupay week in, week out, first name on the team shett despite scoring 3 goals in open play in a side that create 20 plus chances every week. He shouls have been put on the bench in October and he should be fighting for his place with the rest of them. Simple bad management. Potter was late dropping the keeper and he is 3/4 months late in dropping Maupay. I say this as tat is how it is, but np I dont want Potter sacked as I like him as a coach, but he needs to make some proper decisions up front. Starting today.

Yep true. But we have to stop thinking we are unlucky. We dont look where we are shooting so what do we expect? Its been like it for what 18 months. That's a trend not luck.
