Weird descion, 4th in the league and will probably get playoffs where anything can happen. With the form the three sides above them are in, how can a new manager do better than where they are right now?

Some teams just think they have a given right to go straight back up.

Job for Wagner, maybe. He knows how to win a Championship play off campaign...or the ex-Fulham manager who took them up last season. Just don't give him too much money to spend on the squad if he gets you up.

Won 4 in 11 or something like that. Strongest squad in division, according to some.

But seems crazy, yes.
They're not even that far from Villa, don't they read the news? "Strongest squad" on paper means nowt. [emoji23]

Nobody ever learns.....

After the utterly shithouse season they had in the PL last year I thought they were doing really well to be in with a shout of promotion. Moore seems to have done a great job.

Plus after Steve Gibson spending £50m at Boro and predicting they would "storm the division" (that went well) you'd have thought that people in charge of relegated PL teams would realise that it's actually REALLY hard to go straight back up nowadays.

As others have said, they're probably in the shit FFP wise unless they get promoted so it's a panic thing. I'd wager that they're ****ed now anyway.

Onest Arry for the job?

Indeed. But, no, they will take a reckles punt on somone managing in lig dur, or the scorchio league, shirley?
Mind you, Rodrigweez will probably have another say in who manages him, though.....
No, you're right. It'll be Harry.

I hope they fail horribly.

Absolutely astounding, ridiculous decision. 100% their loss.

In the current climate, with chairmen and owners seemingly demanding overnight success, is it really that much of a shock? I don't think so. Yes our Brummie namesakes are 4th in the Championship, but many would say, with being a Premier League team only a year ago, and with the talent at their disposal, they should be looking to bounce back in the top two, not struggling to make the play offs.

DM has given WBA a far better chance of an immediate return than Stoke (owned by local billionaires) and Boro the season before who immediately spent £66m on players “to smash the Championship”. Incredibly hard to bounce straight back up and DM put them in a good position.

I don't disagree, but l don't know how many of the West Brom faithful, used to Premier League football for many years, will see it that way.
